Laura Dick
Laura’s paintings are inspired by the natural world, primarily flowers. Her work is modern and bold. Using softly blended oils, she explores the shapes of petals reinterpreting them realistically highlighting their simple elegance. Often on large canvases they become unique floral portraits, that invite the viewer in to the magnificence of their blooms. Her use of scale and pattern are influenced by her professional background in graphic design. These floral portraits are a reflection of the joy Laura has in their creation.
Laura was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. After attending Ontario College of Art & Design (OCADU) earning a diploma in Graphic Design she worked as a package designer. Years later she began painting full-time at her home studio in the beaches area of the Toronto.
