My paintings explore the quiet power of flowers—their beauty, fragility, and the emotions they carry. I don’t just see them as still-life objects, but as floral portraits, each with a distinct posture and presence. In many ways, these works are reflections of myself. Their curves, folds, and transitions echo my own experiences, emotions, and internal seasons.
Working in oil on large canvases, I focus on soft, layered brushwork balanced with bold negative space. My background in graphic design influences how I approach composition—shaping each bloom with intention, rhythm, and scale. I’m drawn to that space where realism meets stylized abstraction, where nature feels both familiar and newly seen.
Painting flowers is a way of slowing down. It’s a practice of attention, of grounding, and often of healing. Through these pieces, I hope to offer moments of stillness and connection—a chance for viewers to see something of themselves in the petals, just as I do. Laura was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. After attending Ontario College of Art & Design (OCADU) earning a diploma in Graphic Design she worked as a package designer. Years later she began painting full-time at her home studio in the beaches area of the Toronto.
